New Sambhali Shakti Center Opens its Doors in Jodhpur

Inaugurated at the Government Observation & Juvenile Home, this center will allow more than sixty women and children to access lessons for their personal and professional development. With an emphasis on the possibility of making clothes in order to achieve financial independence, the Shakti Center will offer sewing and embroidery classes every morning. Comprising three levels, beginners as well as experienced students will be able to participate. Similarly, English, math, and Hindi classes offered to both women and children will give them the keys they need to achieve professional independence.

Shakti Center is now the fifth Shambhala Trust’s empowerment centre in Jodhpur. It targets women and children who are marginalised because of their caste, financial means, or social status. It is designed to give women self-confidence, dignity, and a means of achieving economic independence, which helps them rebuild their identity and reintegrate into society. For children, it will provide the education necessary for their future schooling, thanks in particular to our collaboration with the Child Rights Department, Juvenile Justice Committee, Rajasthan High Court and to the support of UNICEF Rajasthan.

The centre was formally inaugurated by Hon’ble Justice Sandeep Mehta and Hon’ble Justice Vijay Bishnoi of the Rajasthan High Court. The programme was chaired by Hon’ble Acting Chief Justice Sanjeev Prakash Sharma, whose presence added great significance to the event.

Judge Sandeep Mehta stated, “Women's empowerment is not just a program, it is a process of social transformation.” In line with this, Judge Vijay Bishnoi also described the center as an important step toward a better future for women. The Sambhali Shakti Women Empowerment Center reflects this belief and strives to strengthen women's skills, self-esteem, and future opportunities.
