During the session, Lara Delutis, Volunteer at Sambhali Trust, delivered three oral statements, highlighting the organisation's grassroots work with women, girls, children, gender minorities, and marginalized communities in Rajasthan, India. In addition, three written statements submitted by Sambhali Trust were officially presented, bringing community perspectives and human rights issues to the international stage.
This participation reflects Sambhali Trust's continued commitment to ensuring that local voices are heard in global discussions. As an organisation with ECOSOC Special Consultative Status, Sambhali Trust remains dedicated to advancing human rights through meaningful grassroots action, international advocacy, and strong partnerships with the United Nations.
UN Campaign "Orange the World"
Every year, UN Women and its subsidiary Say No UNiTE organize a 16-day long campaign to “End Violence against Women”. This is a global initiative and is activated both by the UN and also at the grassroots level, by NGOs and other organizations willing to participate.
The overall campaign theme is ‘Orange the World’, and participating countries often light up important monuments and buildings in orange in recognition of this.
Sambhali Trust regularly participates in the campaign - read about the latest one in our blog.
