Garima (LGBTQIA+ Rights)

Sambhali’s Project Garima (Dignity) provides a safe drop-in center in Jodhpur for members of the LGBTQIA+ community. This pilot project offers professional support for those who have suffered physical, mental, and financial abuse due to their sexual orientation and/or gender expression.

With the expertise of professionals, we help members create a strong and trustworthy network. Our office provides a safe haven where members can learn about their rights, focus on their emotional well-being, and find guidance.

Project Garima aims to build a bridge between the LGBTQIA+ community and the mainstream society. Through our workshops, we strive to build self-esteem, foster independence, and unite members in the community. The project’s foundation is laid on trust, faith, hope, kindness, gratitude, love, and affection, providing an ear to hear and our hearts to understand the members.

At our weekly Sunday meetups, members of the LGBTQIA+ community and allies from mainstream society come together to break the barriers in the fight for human rights and share each other's experiences as well as discuss gender stereotypes, emotional and physical health (including HIV and STDs), cybercrimes, laws, and youth affairs. They also attend recreational activities.

Follow Project Garima on Instagram and Facebook to get regular updates about our work.
